The Fort Cavazos Hood Health Contracting Branch Medical Readiness Contracting Office–West (MRCO-West) MEDCOM, Fort Cavazos, Texas intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price, sole source contract to Laerdal Medical Corporation. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 United States Code 2304 (c) (1) implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.601(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold.

Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization).
