Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source. The Medical Readiness Contracting Office - West, JBSA - Fort Sam Houston, Texas intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price sole source contract to NuVaisive Specialized Orthopedics, Inc, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501(a)(1)(ii), sole source for a requirement of a PRECICE 2 Limb Lengthening Nail System implant required for patient who sustained a high energy/high contamination left open tibial shaft fracture that requires limb lengthening procedure. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 339113 Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing;

Small Business Size Standard: 800 employees. The solicitation number is W81K0024Q0088 and is generated for the purposes of posting this notice. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete the purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicitation of offers; however, interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. Questions will not be accepted after the due date. All responses must be received by 19 April 2024-10:00AM CST Salient Characteristics for NuVaisive Specialized Orthopedics, Inc Products All products must be FDA and TAA compliant.

Must be able to gradually lengthen based on the patient's requirements with a hand-held external remote controller (ERC). Must be made to leverages advanced technology to remotely control an implant from the outside with incredible precision. which allows for the customizable treatment of limb length discrepancy and limb reconstruction. Must be designed to continues to provide stability throughout the consolidation phase after intramedullary fixation.

Must be able to customize the implant with a fast distractor or locking pegs, partially threaded or fully threaded screws. Must be able to provide a quicker healing and early ability to bear full weight without aids compared to a mono-lateral frame. Must accommodate multiple procedures, to include limb leng1hening, open and closed fracture fixation, pseudoarthrosis, mal-unions, non-unions or bone transport of long bones.
