COAST GUARD CUTTER WALNUT APPLETON MARINE PARTS SECTION 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1 Scope of Work 1.1.1 Background: During anchoring evolution crew discovered both port and starboard anchor ground tackle handwheel & brake band assemblies to be badly corroded and rusted. The port handwheel assembly is no longer operational and crew is limited to use of the starboard side only.

The starboard side is also close to failure, but crew has been able to keep it greased and operational. 1.1.1.1 Intent is to procure and ship two new handwheel brake stand and brake band assemblies to cutter’s homeport. Coast Guard currently has the drive shaft assemblies in stock, so the request does not include these. Coast Guard is requesting two drive shaft assemblies as per Section 2 of this document. The contractor must provide all materials/supplies defined in this Scope of Work.
