Description of Problem: During recent ATON patrol, the Bouy Crane blew out three manifold seals for the piping connecting to the swing drive manifold. Ships force recognized the seals failing during extended use of the swing manifold. During replacement, there was corrosion found on the sealing surface and the piping connecting the swing manifold to the main manifold would not line up correctly, possibly causing the seal to not be aligned properly.

Tech Rep Requirements: Contractor will have familiarity working with Appleton systems, hydraulic experience, and Pipe fitting experience. All contractors heading to base must comply with requirements for accessing FLETC at 1050 Register st, Charleston, South Carolina including being a US Citizen, valid driver’s license, and no felony convictions.

EB600-60-40 Manufacturers Publications: Buoy Handling Crane – Model EB600-60-40 Work to be performed: Inspect and repair installed piping between the swing manifold and control manifold. This will also include onsite time for lapping the valve block restoring a smooth profile to the sealing surface. All fittings used will be stainless steel. Operational Test required post install and signed off by ships crew for quality assurance.

All work will be performed IAW SLFC technical standards and manufacturers recommendation.
