NOTICE OF INTENT: The Medical Readiness Contracting Office - West, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX intends to award on a Limiting Competition sole source basis, a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to Geo-Med Inc. for Impella Heart Pumps for the Department of Cardiology Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Impella heart pumps are the world’s smallest heart pumps.

The devices provide mechanical life-saving support to high-risk patients. The government currently owns 3 Impella Controllers. The required Impella heart pumps and accessories fit the government owned controllers. Geo-Med is the only authorized seller of Impella heart pumps. This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicitation of offer. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency for future requirements.

Award will be made on or about 30 Jan 2025. The NAICS code 339113 - Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, size standard is 800 employees.
