SPECIAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD. This Notice is to announce that the Department of Veteran Affairs, Consolidated Mail-Out Phamacy(CMOP) located in Hines, IL, is proposing to negotiate a contract with Golden States Medical System (GSMS), a Small Business on a sole source basis for Pentetate Calcium Trisodium and Pentetate Zinc Trisodium.

Hameln Pharma is the sole manufacturer of both Pentetate Calcium Trisodium and Pentetate Zinc Trisodium. According to the FDA Orange Book, there is no other pharmaceutically equivalent product available within the United States. Hameln Pharma has authorized Golden States Medical System (GSMS) to be the sole distributer of this product to the United States.

The Government believes the reason justifying this sole source procurement is that GSMS is the only responsible source that can meet this urgent need, and that will satisfy the agency's requirement for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). This is not a request for quotes and any interested party may notify the network contracting office (NCO) 15, via email to kelly.mann@va.gov to express their ability to provide these products for future needs.
