Hameln Pharma is the sole manufacturer of both Pentetate Calcium Trisodium and Pentetate Zinc Trisodium. According to the FDA Orange Book, there is no other pharmaceutically equivalent product available within the United States. Hameln Pharma has authorized Golden States Medical System (GSMS) to be the sole distributer of this product to the United States. The Government believes the reason justifying this sole source procurement is that GSMS is the only responsible source that can meet this urgent need, and that will satisfy the agency's requirement for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(2).
