NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE AND SYNOPSIS - ABILITYONE The U.S. Government, Medical Readiness Contracting Office - West, JBSA - Fort Sam Houston, Texas intends to award a service contract to provide non-personal services to provide AbilityOne laundry services to Weed Army Community Hospital. The Contractor shall furnish laundry services at Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) and Clinical areas, Fort Irwin, CA.
All work under this contract shall be accomplished in accordance with specifications in MIL-STD 665D, with amendments and revisions there to, and with any Military Specifications of Standards cited herein. In addition, the contractor shall maintain adequate procedures for collecting, transporting, processing and storing linens.
These procedures will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, and any existing State, Federal Regulations and the Joint guidelines, and any existing State, Federal Regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) Regulations. This requirement is for a base year plus one option year and a six-month extension as follows:

Laundry services have been provided at the WACH location provided by the previous contract no. W81K0019P0009. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code that best fits this requirement is–812332, Industrial Launderers. The NAICS code selected best fits FSC/PSC S209, Housekeeping- Laundry/Dry Cleaning.
Small Business Size Standard: $47,000,000. This sole source requirement is issued under the statutory authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1): For purchases no exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT). This notice does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a sole source is reasonably available to fulfill the stated requirement. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This sole source synopsis is for informational purposes only.
