Notice of Intent to Sole Source

This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures for urgent requirement in preventing work stoppage for on-site removal and installation of new custom made THK rail and bearing assembly for vault door for the High Energy X-Ray system, for use at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.

Only one authorized supplier, NELCO Worldwide, original manufacture of the door systems, subject matter experts on the existing vault door system and first line of defense against radiation leakage who has the material and technical expertise to ensure technical compatibility and performance. Any purchase order will be awarded under 'other than full and open competition' as authorized by FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for offers.

A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements for this item.
