Sole Source Notification to Universal Sonar Mount. An upgrade to the Universal Sonar Mount hardware currently owned by Naval Post Graduate School

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (FLCSD) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Universal Sonar Mount or an authorized (USM) dealer located at 72 Liberty Ship Way, Sausalito, CA 94965. Under the authority of FAR6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The requirement is for an upgrade to the existing Universal Sonar Mount hardware currently owned by the Naval Post Graduate School. The present hardware in place is Kongsberg EM2040-07 transducer, and this transducer will currently not fit on the watercraft with the current mounting hardware. Request an upgrade to the pole used to mount the transducer, and the Hightower base unit on which the pole is mounted. Request a teardrop shaped mount on which to attach the Kongsberg 2040-07 transducer.

This sonar system and mounting hardware is used to support the Oceanography Department courses, student thesis projects, and the Technical POC’s research program. The anticipated award date of this action is on or before end of September 2024. The applicable North American Industry Classification System code is 33451 - Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Nautical System and instrument Manufacturing.
