The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global Health Center (GHC) Division of Global HIV & TB (DGHT) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Bio-Rad Laboratories, U.S. Division Clinical Diagnostics Group for the brand name Titertube® Micro Test Tubes, Geenius Reader, Geenius Computer for Diagnostic Testing, Geenius HIV 1/2 Supplemental Assay for Diagnostic Testing, Geenius HIV 1/2 Controls, 10% Tween 20, Nonionic Detergent.

These test kits and accompanying reader/laptop, controls, reagents, and tubes are validated and approved to maintain the College of American Pathologists and ISO 17025 accreditation for our laboratory. The Geenius HIV-1/HIV-2 Supplemental assay is the only Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved HIV test that distinguishes between HIV-1 and HIV-2.

These kits, reader/laptop, reagents, and tubes, are only manufactured and available from Bio-Rad, U.S. Division Clinical Diagnostics Group This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within six (6) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
