NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE SPECIAL NOTICE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District (USACE-NAU) will be soliciting a proposal on a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for K-12 rated pivot gates as part of firm fixed price (FFP) requirement for the construction of the Special Operation Forces (SOF) Parachute Rigging Facility at Smith Barracks, Baumholder, Germany .

As part of the construction contract solicitation, USACE-NAU intends to include the following sole source requirements: K-12 Rated Pivot Gate – The AutoGate VPL-CB-24 Shield Crash Gate Barrier is the only pivot K-12 rated gate on the latest DOD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier List and is the only commercially available item which meets this project’s requirements.The AutoGate VPL-CB-24 Shield Crash Gate Barrier is the only active pivot K-12 rated gate on the DOD List (DOD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier List, dated September 2022, page 7).

Note that the drop beam barriers on that list do not include the fencing required for anti-personnel entry and rolling gates do not meet the space constraints and SOCOM’s Mission Assurance requirements. The AutoGate VPL-CB-24 will be the only readily available product to meet this project’s requirements.
