The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District, featuring the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Louisiana Post, is hosting its 2024 General Industry Day on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, followed by the Senior Leader Cutterhead Dredge Forum on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Both of these separate events are independent of one another, and are not combined efforts.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the General Industry Day will provide industry-specific information that focuses on active USACE projects in South Louisiana over the next 18 months, and is open to all interested contractors, large and small businesses, joint ventures, academia, as well as other Government stakeholders.
The General Industry Day will provide opportunities for industry to meet one-on-one with USACE technical personnel for the outlined projects below via breakout sessions on a First-Come, First-Served basis and renders the opportunity for vendors and professional organizations to setup table displays as well. SAME will facilitate the afternoon segment of the industry day and provide speakers from various organizations.
There will be great opportunities for networking with like-minded business professionals and to explore potential future collaborations. See projects that will be presented below. If your company is interested in attending, please complete the registration form for each attendee and submit no later than 8 April 2024. Projects include:
Comite River Diversion Project West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Project (WSLP) East Baton Rouge Flood Management Project (EBR) Mississippi River Levee Construction (MRL) Morganza to the Gulf, Humble Canal Preload Contract (MTG) Southeast Louisiana (SELA) Atchafalaya Basin Southwest Coastal Facilities & Physical Support Locks & Structures Major Maintenance A-E Outlook Studies & Possible Future Opportunities As mentioned, there will also be an opportunity for vendors and professional organizations to setup table displays by the main entrance under a covered area.
Although the total number of available tables is not yet solidified, these tables will be filled on a First-Come, First- Served basis.

Company Name & Point of Contact 2. Business Size (Large/Small) & type of Socioeconomic SB Concern, if applicable On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the Senior Leader Cutterhead Dredge Forum will provide a platform for collaboration focused on challenges and opportunities in the dredging industry.
This forum is open to all cutterhead and dustpan dredging companies that are currently performing business in the New Orleans District or are interested in doing so, and is not limited to the Mississippi Valley Associated General Contractors members.
The dredge forum will provide an opportunity for dredging industry leaders to meet with USACE senior leaders and technical personnel to discuss New Orleans District dredging projects and funding, and also to allow industry leaders to demonstrate assets available to meet the dredging needs of the district and the nation. There will be two (2) attendee slots (leadership positions) available per company.
If your company is interested in attending, please complete the registration form for each attendee and submit no later than 8 April 2024. Should an attendee/company have a question they would like to be discussed at the forum, please submit the inquiries via email to Anedra Baldwin, at anedra.a.baldwin@usace.army.mil, no later than 12 April 2024. All attendees will be required to pre-register for the event(s) they plan on attending. Each attendee will be required to register individually for the event and must submit the registration form for facility access. A tentative agenda will be uploaded to this announcement at a later date, so interested parties should continue to check SAM.GOV for future updates to this notice.
