1. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation will be accomplished under the authority of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items.
2. The solicitation number is 6991PE24Q000002 and issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ).
3. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2023-06, effective December 4, 2023.
4. This procurement is an unrestricted procurement under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 336611, Ship Building and Repairing, with a small business size standard of 1300 employees.
5. Description of Requirements The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Maritime Administration (MARAD), Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet (SBRF) has a requirement to perform PG 615 Dynamo Port Shaft Inspection The period of performance is thirty (30) days after arrival to the Shipyard. Because this craft is not considered deep-seaworthy, all work must be performed on this vessel in the San Francisco Bay area, such area to include the up-river areas of Sacramento and Stockton. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order with supplemental work as a result of this Combined Synopsis/Solicitation.
