Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Contract for Extended Warranty Coverage of Hasler Folder Inserters with High-Capacity Feeders

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Midstate’s Procurement Branch, intends to award a Sole Source Purchase Order to Walz Label & Mailing Systems, 624 High Point Ln, East Peoria IL 61611 USA, for preventative maintenance of four PS200 Hasler Folder Inserters and six installed high-capacity feeders.

Walz Label & Mailing Systems is the only brand specific, factory-authorized service provider for preventative maintenance of mailing system equipment that is located in the local geographical area and capable of meeting all required response times. Preventative Maintenance of the stated equipment at the IRS National Distribution Center is needed for continuity of operations.

The proposed procurement is made under the authority granted under FAR 13.106-1(b) Brand Name Sole Source Justification for Acquisitions at or below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Potential sources who believe they can provide the service listed above are invited to submit a capability package in writing to rownak.b.iqbal@irs.gov and cathy.s.collier@irs.gov.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Please note: A SOLICITATION DOES NOT EXIST. The Government will not cover any costs for any information or inquiry submitted as a result of this notice. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 811210. The small business size standard is $34M.

The Contractor is required to register with the System for Award Management (SAM) at http://www.sam.gov. No contract award shall be made to any contractor that is not registered the System for Award Management.
