PURPOSE: SPECIAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD.

This Notice is to announce that the Department of Veteran Affairs, Consolidated Mail-Out Phamacy(CMOP) located in Charleston SC is proposing to negotiate a contract IAW 41 U.S.Code 1901 implemented by FAR 13.1061(b)(2) with Innovation Associates Inc. (iA) a Large Business on a sole source basis for the expansion of the current Collation Bottles Plus subsystem tied to the Charleston s Automated Pharmacy Fulfillment System (APFS).

The expansion will add configurable Bottle-Plus collation, the pairing of bottles to tote products, expand current routing conveyance and associated hardware, software and logic controls. The APFS is designed using proprietary software developed by iA that cannot be modified by any entity other that iA. They are the only vendor whom fully understands the overall design, the workload allocation, and the interaction between all the subsystems within the APFS.

This is not a request for quotes and any interested party may notify the network contracting office (NCO) 15, via email to larry.zaritz@va.gov to express their ability to provide similar upgrades for future needs.
