FY 24 Automated Rotary Microtomes

NOTICE TO INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The VA Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO-8) intents to issue a firm-fixed price single source procurement to D.M.I. Medical,INC for a Histocut Microtomes at VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Proposed services contract/Supply is for a 120 days ARO. D.M.I. is the OEM and the only Authorized Seller of the Histocut Microtomes in Puerto Rico.

The applicable NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 with a business size standard of 1,000 Employees and PSC 6640. The proposed contract is for items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a notice of intent to award a single-source procurement action and is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation package is available.

Firms who want to challenge the single source must show clear and convincing evidence of their capability to provide the supplies, and that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Those responses are to be submitted via email to Contract Specialist, Edwin R. Correa, edwin.correa1@va.gov; no later than September 9, 2024, 9:00 AM EST. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

NCO-8 will not provide any reimbursement for any costs associated or connected with providing any capabilities information. Any information submitted in response to this notice of intent is strictly voluntary.
