The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 intends to award a sole source purchase order to ACPE Inc. at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC as part of a Clinical Pastoral educational and training accreditation services to the Chaplain Service Office.

The annual accreditation dues/fees for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Inc. qualifies the Durham VA Health Care System (DVAHCS) to request Resident training stipends from the Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) which offers them (CPE) education credits and in turn provides enhanced spiritual care for our Veterans. ACPE will provide: Continued accreditation enabling DVAHCS to offer Clinical Pastoral Education to students for the period of performance.

Continued consultation on meeting standards as approved by the Department of Education as part of ongoing accreditation. Ongoing consultation in the education and training of students. Consultation for certifying those who provide clinical supervision (ACPE Certified Educators) and opportunities for Certified Educators for continuing education for the Durham VAMC, located in Durham, North Carolina 27705. Period of performance will be base option year of service.

Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) soliciting from a single source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can meet these requirements and possesses relevant past-experience and expertise may give written notice.

Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
