Sterile Processing System Steam Quality Testing INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, in Hampton, VA, intends to award on a Sole Source basis, a contract to Thermo Diagnostics Co. to support the Central VA Veterans Health Care System in Richmond, VA for Steam Quality Testing in the Sterile Processing Department.

Service shall include providing all necessary time, personnel, labor, equipment, and supplies, to perform steam testing for dryness and non-condensable gases at the steam line serving steam sterilization equipment located in Building 110A, CG48A within the SPS at the Hampton VA Medical Center.

In addition, all work shall be accomplished in-accordance with applicable Life Safety and OSHA codes and regulations, meeting Joint Commission, NFPA Stat, and or local codes and Department of Veteran Affairs guidelines and policies. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 19.1506, Women-Owned Small Business Program Sole Source awards. Please note, this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.

Solicitation documents are not available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business who believes it can meet the requirements and possesses relevant past-experience and expertise may give written notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement.

Responses will be considered by the Government; However, Government determination not to compete the proposed acquisition, based upon responses of this notice, is solely within Government discretion.
