Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Biomeriuex Equipment Service Contract

This notice IAW FAR 5.2 Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions is not a request for quotes, but rather a notice of intent to sole source. It is at the Government s discretion to consider responses to this notice. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN-1, intends to award a four-year Firm-Fixed-Price service agreement for the maintenance of Biomerieux laboratory analyzer equipment.

This agreement will cover replacement parts, secondary response labor, and technical telephone support for both the equipment and its associated software. Routine software updates and corrective maintenance are essential to ensure continued functionality and compliance. The Biomerieux systems are currently deployed across multiple VISN-1 medical facilities.

As the original manufacturer and developer of the equipment and software, Biomerieux is the only vendor capable of delivering the required services at the necessary level of quality. The nature of support is highly specialized and proprietary, making Biomerieux the sole source for this requirement.

Interested parties may identify their interests and capabilities by responding to this requirement by the due date listed on this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed award upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
