The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate services with OEM, LB, AB SCIEX LLC, to upgrade the existing SCIEX Triple Quad 7500 located at the VAMC Providence Campus.

The contractor shall provide the upgrade for the Research and Development s existing SCIEX Triple Quad 7500. The triple quad mass spectrometer is widely used for research because it provides higher selectivity, accuracy, and reproducibility, along with better limits of detection and quantification, The enhanced product ion scan will give us greater confidence in our data. The SCIEX 7500 System enables new levels of quantification across a large suite of sample types and workflows.

The upgrade to the QTRAP7500 turns on functionality that has already existed in the system we purchased last year; the QTRAP is an additional mass analyzer to enhance our research efforts. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to Contracting Opportunities SAM.gov. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.  The NAICS 334516. The size standard is 1,000 employees.
