Emergency HVAC repairs at Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater BEQ

The US Coast Guard Office of Procurement & Contracting Miami Detachment (LOGCOM - 951), on behalf of U.S. Coast Guard AirStation Clearwater, FL intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price service award to I/C Mechanical of Tampa, Fl for the emergency repairs of the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters berthing HVAC system. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision and parts needed to make repairs to INOP HVAC system which provides air conditioning to the duty crew berthing rooms at the Air Station.

Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of needed repairs to the HVAC system. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.

The vendors timely response and inspection of the HVAC system allowed Engineering personnel to obtain the funds needed to order parts necessary to make repairs and have system operations within 3 business days. With the high temperatures expected in the Tampa/Clearwater area, duty crews had to be housed at a local hotel until HVAC system is operational. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals.
