Intent to Sole Source- O2 Mask, Regulator, Helmet & Comm TS

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Gentex Corporation; 9859 7TH ST, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA 91730 USA (Cage Code: 60240) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.101(b), Contracting officers may solicit from a single source based on a determination and findings (see subpart 1.5) that only one source is reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization).

The Command Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for the production and delivery of Common Support Equipment (CSE) PN-G006-2300-06 O2 Mask, Regulator, Helmet & Comm TS, for the KC-130J Program, Fleet Readiness Center East. PN G006-2300-06 is solely manufactured and distributed by Gentex Corporation CAGE CODE (60240). The OEM owns the proprietary rights to the drawing and design of this equipment and is not selling any of the rights.

As the Gentex Corporation CAGE CODE (60240) is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, technical expertise and technical data to provide the required CSE. For this reason, the government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from Gentex Corporation (CAGE Code: 60240). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
