The Smokejumper helmet with face mask is only worn during parachuting operations. It is not utilized for firefighting operations and does not need to meet any heat requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1977, Standard on Protective Clothing and Equipment for Wildland Firefighting.
