Notice of Intent to Sole Source-DANG (Director of the Air National Guard) Fighter Recapitalization

This servies as a the Governments Notice of Intent to Sole Source this requirement. The contractor shall define the scale and scope of the fighter recapitalization problem and illustrate the solution space that ANG fighter force structure can provide to bridge the gap between maintaining a credible fight tonight force and building the Total Force of the future. The contractor shall provide assessment, recommendations, solutions, and conclusions in a publication format and in a podcast format.

The Air Force needs a plan that balances the need to build the future force while maintaining a credible fight tonight force in this “decisive decade” for America and the world. Current Total Force (TF) plans do not effectively leverage the full capabilities of the Air National Guard (ANG) in support of the future TF.

The Air Force must divest legacy fighters to invest in the Department of the Air Force Operational Imperatives and ensure the TF is ready to defend the homeland, deter and if necessary, defeat peer adversaries in support of the National Defense Strategy (NDS).
