High-Speed Digitizer

The Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL) and airborne (ABL) LiDAR team requires the capability of a 4 channel High-Speed Digitizer (HSD) to build a high-altitude LiDAR. Upon completion of market research, it was determined that it is more finically reasonable and still technically acceptable to purchase 2 seperate 2-channel HDSs, one that records high speed (4.7 GHz), and one that records slower speed (1 GHz), to satisfy the requirement.

The research team members at GRL are conducting a case study to develop the requirements and specifications for which instruments are needed to support and meet the mission's goals and objectives. The HSDs must be adjustable and have the bandwidth to perform sophisticated measurements to characterize temporal light sources, measure reflectance, and analyze various collected radiations during the case study.

The measurements will help design and build an instrument in a high-altitude lidar as part of the ELS3D project. The GRL must acquire the HSD and support software drivers, and accessories to perform measurements and aid the team in successfully designing the LiDAR sensor.
