Solid State Transformer (SST) Enclosures

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center – Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) in Champaign, IL has a requirement to purchase two aluminum power system enclosures that will be utilized to allow a Solid State Transformer (SST) to integrate with the Advanced Medium Mobile Power System (AMMPS) Microgrid, which powers prototype equipment in accordance with Army/NATO Allies power generation standards.

Through market research it was found that Synergy 812, LLC is the only vendor that can meet the government’s requirements for the power system enclosures. The are no commercial off the shelf items that exist with the unique combination of specifications that are required, so parts must be manufactured on customized basis.

Synergy 812, LLC is the only vendor found with prior experience developing custom hybrid power system equipment, designed for rugged military requirement and conforming to Army standards and NATO connection requirements, and using aluminum materials on the large-scale basis that the Army standards require, and within a reasonable timeframe. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Synergy 812, LLC accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This is not a small business set aside.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will be in any way alter the Government’s acquisition strategy. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
