10 Jun 20225 Update: To further assist the Corps in the market research process and to inform our decision on a small business set-aside (or no set aside), we ask for interested firms to provie their UEI # and past performance on 2-3 similar projects. Please include a description of the project. Please submit this information via email to andrew.b.hewitt@usace.army.mil NLT June 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. EST. This would be appreciated but not mandatory by any means to attend the industry day. Companies that don't attend the industry day are also invited to provide this information.
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, is hosting a VIRTUAL Industry Day on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EST, regarding the fabrication and delivery of stackable fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bulkheads, and auxiliary components for the Black Rock Lock (BRL). The stack-able bulkheads are approximately 74-ft long and stack to a total height of 33-ft. The Government seeks feedback from engineers and fabricators with experience overseeing similar projects, which will be used for planning purposes.
Draft plans and specifications are provided with this announcement. In addition to the Black Rock Lock dewatering bulkheads project, there are several more similar FRP composite dewatering bulkhead/stoplog projects that will likely be advertised within the next year including: 8 stoplogs 130-ft long by 4-ft tall, 10 stoplogs 84-ft long x 5-ft tall, 4 bulkheads 14-ft long by 13-ft tall, 2 bulkheads 40-ft long by 7-ft tall, and 1 bulkhead 20-ft long by 15-ft tall. An overview of these projects will be given.
This Industry Day will be an excellent opportunity for contractors with NAICS codes 326199, 325999, and 237990. This effort is to help shape upcoming requirements and to virtually meet the USACE team. Manufacturing, Construction and Engineering firms with experience in the design and fabrication of bulkheads are highly encouraged to attend.
There will also be discussion where the Government will be seeking feedback regarding design, fabrication, delivery, USACE or contractor installation, and site preparation for this work. Please contact Andrew Hewitt at Andrew.B.Hewitt@usace.army.mil NLT Monday June 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. EDT to confirm attendance. Please include your company details and the email addresses of all individuals who wish to attend.
Your attendance will be confirmed and a link for the virtual meeting will be sent to each of the email addresses provided.
