Hotel Guest Room Refrigerator & Fridge/Microwave Combo

The Government has a requirement for hotel room refrigerators (347 each) and combination fridge/microwaves (13 each) at Tyndall AFB, FL. The Government is searching for Buy-American Act (BAA) compliant appliances that meet the requirements below.

Refrigerators: The specifications provided a 3.1 MF7R Microfridge a 3.1 cubic ft. refrigerator as an example. The Government has been unable to find a BAA compliant refrigerator. The Construction Contractor has proposed the same make and model as they are unable to locate a BAA compliant model with similar specifications.

The Microfridge refrigerator/freezer has these features, 33"H x 18" w x 19"d, 1 full-width wire shelf, 2 3/4" width door shelves, temperature control, manual defrost, transparent crisper, white interior, environmentally friendly, freezer, and ADA compliant. Combination fridge/microwaves: The specifications provided a 2.5MF4E-7D1 Microfridge combination appliance as an example. The Government has been unable to find a BAA compliant appliance.

The Construction Contractor has proposed dimensions approximately the same make and model as they are unable to locate a BAA compliant model with similar specifications.

The microfridge combination appliance features, refrigerator: 18 11/16"w x 19 11/16"d x 10 9/16"h, 1 full-width wire shelf, 2 3/4" width door shelves, temperature control, manual defrost, transparent crisper, white interior, e-star rated, ADA compliant, 3.10 cu ft total capacity; microwave: 18 2/16"w x 14 7/16"d x 10 9/16"h, internal smoke sensor, USB charging station w/ 4 amps max for the (2) USB ports and (1) charging station, easy-grip pull door, express cook settings, programmed cooking options, led display and clock, signal beeper w/ adjustable volume, removable 10 11/16" glass carousel.

This request is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. It is for information only and is not a request for proposal (RFP) or announcement of a solicitation. The purpose of this notice is to understand the market for alternative suppliers of the items described above. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all information received by the date indicated in this notice will be considered by the Government.

A determination by the Government to grant an exception to BAA requirements based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, is conducting a market survey to identify alternate sources. Respondent firms shall provide:

1. Manufacturer's name and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) if applicable.

2. Product data and written statement of the ability of firm’s alternative product to be used in place of the referenced product above for the equipment specified. 3.The written statement of compliance shall include necessary backup design information and supporting documentation. A list of projects in which the manufacturer has met similar requirements for similar applications shall be provided. The list shall include the exact location of project(s) and a point of contact with phone numbers.

The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this notice nor return the data provided. 4. Responses should be sent to eric.j.hurtado@usace.army.mil no later than stated response time. No other forms of transmission are requested or will be accepted.
