Intent to Sole Source: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure furniture items for building 340 in Rock Island, Illinois, from AllSteel Inc., on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(C). The contract will be awarded as a commercial firm-fixed-price contract. The NAICS code for this procurement is 337214 - Office Furniture with a size standard of not to exceed 1,100 employees.

PLEASE NOTE: Furniture must be fully compatible with the current existing furniture and the contractor would be responsible for providing and installing: 41 count -- Hon 310 - 5 drawer legal size vertical file cabinets. 76 count -- Hon 4996 - 42” x 30” flat file cabinets, with 19 closed bases. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued.

However, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence shall be in sufficient detail that demonstrates the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must be furnished to the point of contact listed below. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will not reimburse for any costs connected with supplying sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. In order to receive a government award, a firm must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) (https://sam.gov/).
