Sprung Shelter Disassembly

Notice of Intent The U.S. Army, 413th Contracting Support Brigade, Regional Contracting Office - Hawaii (RCO-HI) intends to award a firm fixed price single-source contract to Diversified Equipment Incorporated. The proposed contract is in support of U.S. Army, 402nd AFSBn for immediate disassembly and packing of one (1) Sprung structure located at East Range, Wahiawa, Hawaii. The area where the sprung shelter is currently located is needed to provide the new staging area for incoming equipment and vehicles.

Due to the urgent need for the sprung shelter disassembly to occur within the month, Sprung has made a one-time authorization for Diversified Equipment Incorporated (DEI) to disassemble the shelter and still maintain the Sprung warranty. Maintaining the Sprung warranty is critical for replacement parts and other serviceability aspects should the shelter ever be erected again.

The manufacturer has stated that they will not honor the warranty (parts or other serviceability components) if the disassembly is provided by the authorized service provider. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and the procedures at FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.

However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. A solicitation may be provided by written request. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code – 561790 - other services to buildings and dwellings with a size standard $9.0M applies to this announcement.
