Notice of Intent - Level-I Confinement Facility at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas

In accordance with Section 888(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) (Public Law 114-328) as implemented by Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.302-1(c)(2), the justification and approval (J&A) addressed in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.303 is required to use brand name or equal descriptions for the Monaco Fire Alarm System in the firm-fixed price construction contract for a Level I Regional Confinement Facility at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.

The existing base fire alarm reporting system at Sheppard Air Force Base is a Monaco system and the supervising station is located at the main fire station, Building B1093. New equipment utilized in the Level I Regional Confinement Facility to communicate with the Base central station must be compatible with the existing Base systems.

The Brand Name Justification for the Monaco FIre Alarm Sytem will issued via an amendment under Step II of the Two-Step Sealed Bid W912BV24B0006 along with the final specifications to those contactors who submitted acceptable technical proposals in Step One. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency.
