On or about 23 July 2024, the Government intends to issue the Step-One Invitation for Bid (IFB) “Fort Randall Spillway Abutment Repair, Fort Randall, SD”. The Step-One IFB will close on or about 22 August 2024. This is a Small Business Set-Aside.

Site Visit: A Site Visit will be scheduled and additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation via FAR Clause 52.236-27. The site visit is tentatively scheduled for August for Step-Two qualified bidders.

Project Description: The Fort Randall Dam Spillway Bridge Abutment Repair and Bearing Replacement consists of removing and replacing damaged concrete on the abutment and replace bridge bearings at the abutment. The existing steel bearings will be removed and replaced with elastomeric bearings. The contract will include incidental work such as, but not limited to, traffic control and temporary supporting or jacking of the bridge to accommodate repair and bearing work.

Optional work will include surface preparation and painting of a portion of the bridge girders. The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after IFB issuance.

Estimated Construction Costs: The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

NAICS Code: The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, with a size standard for Small Business of $45M.
