USACE District, Portland Classification Code: 6150 - Miscellaneous Electric Power and Distribution Equipment NAICS Code: 335311 - Power Distributer and Transformer Manufacturing Notice Type: Notice of Intent to Award a Single Source Contract Synopsis: This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 “Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions.” The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District intends to award a single-source, firm-fixed-price supply contract to Eaton Corp, 26101 Northwestern HWY, Southfield, Michigan 97227-1820.

The purpose of this action is to refurbish an Eaton 150VCP-W50C vacuum circuit breaker. The nature of this refurbishment involves replacement of deteriorated vacuum interrupter units inside the circuit breaker, calibration, and testing. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) – Soliciting from a Single Source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold.

A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 335311 - Power Distributer and Transformer Manufacturing. The size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is 800 employees.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS Interested concerns must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government by submitting a capability statement that they have ability to complete the refurbishment to meeting the government’s need. If no affirmative written responses are received by 2:00 PM Pacific Time on 26 June 2024, an award will be made without further notice.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is not responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
