Hydraulic Power Unit Industry Day

SPECIAL NOTICE: INDUSTRY DAY FOR HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT CUSTOM MANUFACTURERS AND CONSTRUCTION (INSTALLATION) The US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District in combination with Pittsburgh District, is hosting an Industry Day on 13 August 2024 at its Willow Island Locks and Dam, Newport, OH, concerning upcoming opportunities associated with upgrades to the Hydraulic Operating Systems at several Ohio River Lock and Dam Projects.

An overview of the recently replaced original and newly installed replacement equipment will be provided. A brief tour of the lock and demonstration/discussion regarding its operation will also be provided. This Industry Day will be an excellent opportunity for contractors with NAICS codes 237990, 238990, 333613, 333995, and 333996, to learn more about this upcoming work and meet the design team.

There will also be discussion where the Government will be seeking feedback on various aspects of the manufacturing of custom hydraulic power units and installation techniques. Virtual, private one-on-one sessions, with individual contractors will also be available on Wednesday, August 14th for those firms interested. During these sessions, each party can ask specific questions about the work.

This is a market research effort to assist the Corps in developing plans and specifications for the design and manufacturing of custom hydraulic power units to modern industry standards and potential methods for construction/installation of the units.
