This Notice of Intent to Sole Source GE Vernova parts to purchase for the Hydropower Unit 3A located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydropower plant located at the Sault Ste Marie Project Office will sole source to:

Nexus Controls LLC 1800 Nelson Rd Longmont, CO 80501 As part of this procurement, the Detroit District intends to specify brand name products on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.303-1(a)(2) to Nexus Controls LLC. The Manufacturer, Nexus Controls LLC is uniquely qualified since they are the manufacture and installer of the Hydropower Unit 3A. The Hydropower Unit 3A is vital to maintaining availability of the Hydropower Plant.

The USACE Hydropower plant, located at the Sault Ste Marie Project Office (SSMPO), has been identified as “critical” to facility operations by the Cloverland Electric Company and to the Greater Eastern Upper Peninsula Region of Michigan. A Unit 3A failure is considered a “critical” failure, and results in lower power generated for the grid. Unqualified personnel not familiar with this critically sensitive specialized equipment could harm the Hydropower Unit 3A by causing permanent damage.

This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal. This is not a solicitation and the information contained herein are subject to change or be eliminated from the requirement. Only Contractor's capable of providing directly compatible equivalent product shall respond. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.

Interested parties who feel they have the capability may identify their interest and capability in writing to the identified point of contact, no later than August 1, 2024, at 10:00am (ET). To demonstrate your firm's interest and capabilities to provide directly compatible equivalent products, please provide the following:
