Ultrasonic Coating System and Accessories

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Sono-Tek Corporation located at 2012, Route 9W Milton, New York 12547-5036, under the authority as prescribed in 41 United States Code 1901 as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.501(a)(1)(ii).

The requirement is for the purchase of an ultrasonic coating system to include all necessary accessories. Sono-Tek Corporation is the only known vendor that meets the full requirement as their spray delivery system offers ultra precise control over droplet size and allows for more complex pattern deposition. Controlling the spray diameter is crucial for selective spraying.

Sono-Tek Corporation is also an active patent holder of their ultrasonic delivery system, their ultrasonic nozzles, and the method to prevent precipitation of dispersed particles in a solution. No other companies were identified that offer this ultrasonic spray coating technology. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 313320 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
