Nylon 6/6 Zytel 42a purchase

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Formerra, located at 1250 Windham Parkway, Romeoville, IL 60466-1673, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1). The requirement is for high vicosity DuPont Nylon 6,6, Type Zytel 42A-NC.

This is for the acquisition of polymer needed to produce government furnished materials to be supplied to other government agencies. Due to the sensitivity of the project, changes to the product without extensive qualification through relevant stakeholder agencies cannot happen.

Formerra, LLC is the only supplier of Nylon 6/6 Zytel 42a to North American entities and businesses, therefore the Distinctive Material Solutions Team (DMST) can only contract with Formerra, LLC. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 325211 and the size standard is 1,250 employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
