Special Notice of Intent - Lightweight Tactical Power Source (LWTPS), Contract No.: W909MY-22-D-0003, Ceiling Increase

This action pertains to a Modification to increase the ceiling on contract number W909MY-22-D-0003 exclusively with Novatio Engineering, Inc. The Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is for the procurement of Lightweight Tactical Power Source (LWTPS). As the US Army evolves to support Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), new capabilities are being implemented.

The Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) and Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) necessitate a lighter, more mobile, scalable power generation solution. The Small Tactical Electric Power (STEP) program within Product Manager, Mobile Electric Power Systems (PM MEPS), will address these requirements but will not be fielded until Fiscal Year (FY) 2028. The LWTPS IDIQ was awarded as a stopgap measure and is not intended for long-term use.

The proposed contract ceiling increase is essential to continue the procurement of LWTPS components, including 2kW Ex-Power Multi-Fuel Generators and Accessories, to meet existing U.S. Army customer requirements until the end of the current contract performance period on 10 March 2027. This Notice of Intent serves as notification and is NOT a request for competitive proposals. A solicitation will NOT be issued.
