This award is for purchase of the Personnel Recovery Support System (PRSS) Increment 1b Personnel Recovery Device (PRD) is a modified militarized version of the Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) only available to US Forces Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) in support of US Army requirements. The action is a sole source requirement for the needs to procure up to 76,358 units and associated spares and services. Pursuant to 10 United States Code (U.S.C.)

3204 (a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A)” Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”. This is NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTES. However, all proposals received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
