Sources Sought - Caterpillar C18 Short Block Engine Components

The 119th Wing/North Dakota Air National Guard, located at 1400 32nd Ave. North in Fargo, ND 58102 is conducting preliminary Market Research to determine an available pool of Small Business vendors who can provide a remanufactured Caterpillar (CAT) C18 short block engine with an assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder packs, oil jets, and other components.

These components are required to complete an overhaul of an existing CAT C18 short block engine utilized to power a 2013 Oshkosh Runway Snowblower at the 119th Wing. The existing engine in the Oshkosh Snowblower suffered significant damage this past winter that rendered the engine as requiring a complete overhaul/rebuild.

The 119th Wing is seeking Small Business who can provide the attached listing of Caterpillar components only (no labor services required), as it is the intent of the 119th Wing to utilize in-house personnel and resources to rebuild the existing engine. This notice is being disseminated for Market Research purposes only to identify Small Business vendors who are able to fulfill this potential requirement.

If you are a Small Business interested party who is able to provide the attached listing of Caterpillar C18 engine parts/components, please identify your firm's ability to provide these components via email to Capt Brian Erdmann at brian.erdmann@us.af.mil and MSgt Rachel Syverson at rachel.syverson@us.af.mil. Additionally, budgetary price estimates are requested in the interest of financial planning, but not required.

This notice is not a formal RFQ and any information provided by interested parties will be retained for Market Research purposes only. All information from interested parties that is received in response to this notice will be collected and saved until which time this potential requirement becomes completely defined. A solicitation MAY be issued at that time. This notice does not authorize the commitment of appropriated funds, nor does it obligate the government to any contract or agreement with any interested parties.
