Sources Sought: L3 Harris AN/PRC-163 and AN/PRC-167 radio systems

The 119th Wing / North Dakota Air National Guard is conducting preliminary Market Research to determine an available pool of Small Business vendors who can provide the AN/PRC-167 and AN/PRC-163 radio systems (manufactured by L3Harris Technologies, Inc.), or equivalent radio systems, for a potential requirement in the near future.

The potential need for a radio system of this caliber is based on the capability to provide Type 1 encryption certified by the National Security Agency (NSA) to carry up to U.S. Top Secret voice/data transmissions via Line-of-Sight, and TSM-X Waveform to personnel and aircraft.

This potential need is also driven by a need to be able to communicate via different wavelengths dependent on mission parameters with the least amount of equipment as possible so that deployment packages and personnel can be kept to a minimal footprint. Requirements for the contemplated radio systems include:

• possession of built-in module-SAASM L1/L2 or commercial L1 GPS. • possession of Denali-based Type 1 Suite A/B encryption. • possession of NSA certification. • possession of ANW2C, SINGCARS, UHF SATCOM, and P25 waveforms. • possession of USB 2.0 for programming. • possession of an operating temperature range of -20 degrees F to 140 degrees F. • possession of 250 mW to 5 W, 10 W SATCOM modes, 3.2 W L/S-band (power modes) . possession of Voice and Data Modes • possession of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) capability. A solicitation MAY be issued at that time. This Sources Sought Notice is being posted for Market Research purposes only to identify Small Business vendors who can provide the AN/PRC-167 and AN/PRC-163 radio systems, or equivalent radio systems that meet the characteristics listed above.

If you are a Small Business interested party who can provide the AN/PRC-167 and AN/PRC-163 radio systems, or comparable radio systems that meet all the requirements identified above, please provide a capability statement identifying your firm's ability to meet these requirements via email to Capt Brian Erdmann at brian.erdmann@us.af.mil. Additionally, budgetary price estimates are welcome, but not required, as this is not a formal RFQ.
