SPECIAL MISSION PILOT AND AIRCREW TRAINING AND SERVICES

Request for Information: The USFS has identified the need to address pilot recruitment, training, qualification and retention to fill gaps in mission capabilities and is conducting market research to gain a greater understanding of industry capabilities. This RFI will provide information the agency needs to explore contractor capacities and developmental products to increase the number of USFS Special Mission Pilots both agency and contractor.

The intent of this RFI is to assess the availability, operability, and feasibility to cover current and future needs related to contractor provided; Mission Pilot and Aircrew member training and qualification, and contractor provided fully qualified Mission Pilots for Fixed Wing Special Mission Single Engine and Multi-Engine aircraft in support of Wildland Fire fighting and Natural Resource Management.

Additionally, information is being sought to identify other aircrew members and fixed wing program operational positions that could be provided through a services MATOC, IDIQ-type contract.
