This is a Sources Sought Notice to identify construction contractors capable of completing the planned IR-12 Substation SCADA Hardware Installation under Subproject 1 of the Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR) Project. This is not a solicitation for proposal or quotations and no award will be made from this Notice. SLAC intends to issue a formal solicitation later based on responses from this Source Sought Notice.
BACKGROUND Many of SLAC’s utilities were installed in the 1960s as part of the original laboratory construction. These utilities were not designed to support the experimental parameters needed for science research today and in the future.
The purpose of the Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR) Project is to modernize utility infrastructure to provide reliable and sustainable operations, enabling SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) to remain mission-ready and enhance the impact of Department of Energy (DOE) scientific programs.
PLANNED SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES SLAC is seeking the services of a qualified construction contractor to complete the scope in the attached Statement of Work (SOW), which includes demolition of existing equipment and installation of Government Furnished Property (GFP) such as pre-fabricated switchgear door plates, communication devices, and new Circuit Breaker Remote Operation Panel (CBROP). The attached SOW includes a base and optional scope.
SOURCES SOUGHT RESPONSE A required qualification for this project includes that the Offeror is at least 5 years in business and has at least one office within 200 miles of SLAC for at least 3 years. Interested construction contractors with the skills, capability, workload capability, and ability to obtain bonding to complete the planned project scope are invited to submit a written response to this Sources Sought Notice.
