SLAC B750 & B730 Elevator Modernization – Design-Build SLAC intends to award a single design-build subcontract for the SLAC B730 & B750 Elevator Modernization Project.
The project aims to address critical deficiencies in the current elevator infrastructure, including both physical spaces and necessary system updates. It seeks to enhance overall safety and operational efficiency by reconfiguring the existing elevators in Building 730 and Building 750. This will require Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Elevator, Communications, Instruments and Controls scope.
Minimum Qualifications The Offeror’s General Contractor’s license has not been revoked within the past five (5) years. The Offeror’s company has not been debarred within the past five (5) years from working on any U.S. government contracts/subcontracts. Neither the Offeror’s firm, nor any of its owners or officers have been convicted of a crime involving the awarding of the contract of a government (U.S. Federal, State, and City) construction project, or the bidding or performance of a government contract.
Offeror must have an established local office for a minimum of 2 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. The San Francisco Bay Area is defined as the following 10 counties: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Solano, and Santa Cruz Counties The Offeror must list any U.S. projects within the past five (5) years that have been terminated for default. The Offeror’s company cannot have any U.S. projects within the past five (5) years that have been terminated for default.
The Offeror must have previous experience working at Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Department of Defense (DOD) Facilities Scope of Work The subcontractor shall provide or partner with an engineering and design firm to take the RFP conceptual or bridging documents to a final design. The Subcontractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to perform and complete the work indicated in this SOW to deliver a fully functional, code compliant system.
This project will address all necessary updates to comply with current building, industry, and code standards, and all necessary engineering, labor, materials, transportation, services, and equipment required to complete the work outlined herein. The purpose of this Scope of Work is to describe the intended results of the work, identify certain reference standards, and provide certain technical details.
The Subcontractor shall perform the work in accordance with the appropriate testing practices and industry standards and provide all new materials and workmanship of the first quality. The term “contractor” as used in the Specifications shall mean “Subcontractor”. The term “Provide” as used in the specifications shall mean “Furnish and Install”. The Subcontractor is required to provide employees trained and experienced in performing the work required under the conditions existing for this project.
A Supervisor having the authority to act as a representative for the subcontractor shall be on the job during the course of work being performed and shall be OSHA 30 qualified. Base Scope The base scope shall include the design and construction of West Elevator in B750. At B750, the West elevator modernization design scope shall include the following.
Alternative 1 – Design and Construction of both B750 Elevators Alternative 1 should include the design and construction of the West Elevator as outlined in the base scope, see section 6, as well as design and construction of the B750 East elevator. Alternative 2 – Design and Construction of modernization of both elevators at B750 and elevator at B730. Alternative 2 shall include all design and construction scope of Alternative 1 as well as the design and construction of the B730 modernization.
