DESCRIPTION? This is a Sources Sought Notice to identify subcontractors capable of completing the Roof-Mounted Cable Tray Constructability Verification project on the Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR). This Sources Sough IS NOT A SOLICITATION for proposal, or quotations and no award will be made from this Notice. SLAC intends to issue a formal solicitation later based on responses from this Source Sought Notice.? ? BACKGROUND AND PLANNED SCOPE??
The Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR) project intends to install a new cable system on the 2-mile-long Klystron Gallery roof to be procured under a separate Design-Build subcontract. Prior to procurement of the Design-Build Subcontract, SLAC is initiating this Roof-Mounted Cable Tray Constructability Verification project to gather information on practical construction workflow, verify Environmental, Safety and Health risks and record lessons learned.
The planned constructability verification work scope consists of constructing 80-foot section mockups of the cable tray system at two separate locations on the roof of the Klystron Gallery.?
The intent is to validate various assumptions such as fall protection, radiological monitoring while the beam is on, hazard measures of electrical and lead-based paint exposure, roof accessibility, installation time, and resource adequacy, upon completion of assessment with report of findings, the temporary installation will be safely removed, and any construction-related damages will be reinstated.?
Findings from this Roof-Mounted Cable Tray Constructability Verification project will be provided to the future CUIR Subproject 1 Design-Build subcontractor. This project is directly funded by the DOE’s Office of Science. CONFLICT OF INTEREST The selected contractor may be precluded from participating in future Design-Build subcontracts for the CUIR Subproject 1 project.
