CHROMIUM GEM-X SINGLE CELL 5’ KIT REAGENTS

This notice is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested.

The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-25-2266765 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).

The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2025-4 June 11, 2025. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325414, Biological Product (except Diagnostic) Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The requirement is being competed with a brand name restriction, and without a small business set-aside.

Project Description: The NIH, NIAID, VRC, B Cell Immunology Section (BCIS), has a current requirement for 10X Genomics reagents. The BCIS focuses on studying the role of B cells in the immune system, particularly in the context of infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, and vaccine responses. Vaccine discovery and development requires intimate knowledge of the immune responses elicited by experimental immunization during clinical evaluation. This procurement is for 10X Genomics Single Cell library reaction kits.

These items are for an ongoing projects to process fresh blood samples associated with ongoing clinical trials (VRC328, VRC329). These projects are focused on in depth analysis of the B cell response to vaccine products, which are made possible through the use of single-cell sequencing to analysis BCR sequence and specificity.
