This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-24-2230812 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).
The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2024-04 May 22, 2024. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1000 employees. The requirement is being competed with a brand name restriction, and without a small business set-aside.
Project Description: The Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research (LMVR) is dedicated to studies of malaria and insect vectors of infectious diseases. Research groups in the laboratory maintain an array of on-campus and overseas activities investigating disease-transmitting insects and broad areas of malaria biology and pathogenesis. The MoticEasyScan Pro 24 Scanner seamlessly integrates with various image analysis software platforms to enhance histopathology practices.
The imaging and analysis systems, when paired with MoticEasyScan , cater to a wide range of histopathology needs, including Quantitative IHC Scoring and Whole Slide Imaging of H&E/IHC tools from image analysis leaders. The LMVR is requesting the following to assist with their research: Slide scanner to scan up to 24 slides for bright field. This will be used by multiple laboratories in the Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research and by diverse clinical protocols.
