X-Ray System

The consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to issue a solicitation on a sole-source basis to North Star Imaging INC. 19875 S. Diamond Lake Rd, Rogers, MN 55374, for preventative maintenance and repair services on (1) NSI X5000 X-View Digital X-Ray System at CPSC Laboratory.

The preventative maintenance and repairs services sought from North Star Imaging are needed to prevent unplanned downtime, extend the life of the system, maximize equipment performance, and minimize maintenance cost that are only provided by North Star Imaging. Another contractor could not perform the services, since North Star Imaging is the only supplier that can provide proprietary software upgrades, authorized imaging specialist, and trained technicians to work on the system.

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplier or services will satisfy the agency requirement. This notice is NOT a request for competitive quoter; however, any firm that believes it can supply the services may give written notice to the Contract Specialist via email at fpritchett@cpsc.gov, by 2 pm EST February 28, 2024. SUPPORTING EVIDENCE MUST BE FURNISHED IN SUFFICIENT DETAIL, to the above listed email address, Attn: Felecia Pritchett, Contract Specialist.

NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS. Responses will be evaluated: however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of Government. If no responses are received, CPSC will proceed with negotiating a sole source award to North Star Imaging INC.
