The U.S. Army TMDE Activity (USATA) has a requirement to implement a brand name purchase of two (2) MCM5004 Manual Mass Comparators or equivalent that will be a life cycle replacement of an existing model that is becoming inoperable. The unit shall be delivered to USATA’s Army Physical Standards Labs located at Building 5435, Fowler Road Redstone Arsenal.
The Mass Comparators will also include the additional measurements to support USATA’s mission as follow: • Maximum measurement capability of 5 Kg, with a readability of 0.1 mg, • Repeatability of 0.5 mg or better, and a digital readout display. • Comparator must have the capability to complete an internal calibration adjustment and provide compensation for off center loading. • Comparator must also be able to complete E1 calibrations at a 5 kg load and provide stabilization in less than 4 seconds.
